Wigs good irc guide First, find youself a good IRC server and channel where people advertise there files for download. You can get a list of where people download through the left menu. Once in this channel, type !list into the main channel and a list of adverts should appear which look a bit like this: (File Servers Online) Triggers:(!Gimme TV & music videos & !new simps) Snagged:(38.35Gb in 653 files) Min CPS:(2.4Kb/s) Record CPS:(16.2Kb/s by pickle_) Online:(0/4) Sends:(1/1) Queues:(15/20) Accessed:(2903 times) Note:(simpsons, futurama, south park, family guy, lots of cartoons and stuff) «~{Polaris IRC}~» The
bits to note are: Once you find one you wish to access, type its trigger (in this case !Gimme TV & music videos or !new simps) in the main chat. Different triggers will give you different files. Once this has been typed a window will popup telling you about a direct chat between you and the server. Once in direct chat then you can use Dos commands like CD to change directory or DIR to list the contents of the current directory, as well as GET then a file name to download files. You may also be able to use the commands `sends` and `queues` to list the current sends and queues in progress. If you have queued files you do not need t stay in direct chat with the server, and most of the time the server will close the chat, dont worry about this, as soon as there is a free send it will send something from the queue.
